Fish finders

Featured Replies

I have a cheap depth finder right now and I am looking to upgrade. I really know nothing about finfinder, sonars or the like so any help is greatly appreciated. I have about $250 to spend and I am really not picky, however it does need to be pretty durable. Any suggestions?

Garmin 160.

Lowrance introduced their Elite 5X DSI at ICAST2010. It's a color unit with down scan imaging for $299. I'm not sure how soon it will be available. I'm looking at it as an upgrade on my small boat. 8-)

I believe he said 499 in the video. The basic Elite 5x color model with no GPS is around 450.

For 250 bucks you can pick up an Eagle FishMark 640c.  Decent unit for the cash.  Good resolution, etc etc.  I've got one on my Jon and have no problems being able to read bottom type, grass, fish, etc etc...
