Navionics Hotmaps Question

Featured Replies

Just curious if anyone knows what all the letter symbols on the Hotmaps charts mean.  For example,  I routinely see " Cb "  on the map, or an " M "  and I think " Bd"  I always assumed that M was mud, Bd was boulder, but I am not sure.  And I do not have any idea what Cb would be?

Thanks

Cb is Cobbles

M is Mud

Wd is Weed

Typically rock is a symbol with no letter identifier.

I don't see Bd listed on a nautical chart

You can put the map curser on the symbol to get an explaination of what it is.

With a Humminbird, you put the curser on the symbol and push the check mark buttom for INFO

Thanks Wayne.  I found the symbols on a Nautical Chart called Chart 1.  it explains everything about navigation.  And it was Bo not Bd.  Memory must be going....  Which of course is boulders.
