Transporting Tin Boat

Featured Replies

hey, i have a boat very similar to this one:

which i plan on removing the 3HP motor, installing a trolling motor, and using it for the local electric only lake. i used to transport it on the back of a truck, it fit perfectly and required minimal tie downs. but now that we sold the truck, is it feasible to build a small trailer to tow it? it would be good since it would be a one man operation VS 2 man required to load it and unload it on the truck. however im not sure how towing such a light trailer would work out. i have towed a bass boat, and several other trailers, but never something that light...

thank you.

Convert a motorcycle trailer. They work great.

Harbor Freight has small trailers for like $250. Perfect for a small little boat like that

I bought the Harbor Freight Trailer for my Sun Dolphin Pro 102.  It works great.  Cost me $299.99 with a coupon. $5.00 shipping.  Put it together with air tools in about 5 hours.

My cousin car tops his boat, looks a lot like the one in the picture. He drives a small suv, Mitsubishi outlander I think.
