High School Bass Fishing Team/club

Featured Replies

is anyone involved with one in their town?  I teach in Ohio and a couple of boys found out I love to bass fish and have started talking about forming a team or something along that line.  I am not a tourney fishermen as I can't swing bass boat but we might be able to find "guide dads"  willing to take the boys out if I were doing a lot of the leg work etc.

but I have not real clue what this would entail.  I have written that student bass league and the Bass Federation today asking for their advice but would really like to hear from folks who are in those sorts of situations what I am getting myself into ;)

how about some advice even if its not based on direct experience?!

I started a team last year and did so by contacting and meeting with my athletic director.

hey good for you that is really good to hear students taking actions like that for themselves!!

how did that go for you?  team up and running?   and if so how did the team do

We fished one tourney last year, the first in NH... We are in for the qualifying tourney and hopefully making it to the state championship

Its a cool deal... For southern states. TBF runs it better than BASS as far as highschool goes

I know there are a fair number of adult leagues/tournaments here in Ohio but I don't know much about those leagues etc.  I live up on the North side so most of those clubs are on Erie or travel down to the southern half.  There aren't many lakes big enough to support a full blown tournament in-between.

If there are any guys from Ohio that are involved in a league that might be able to help with contacts or advice with local guys who would be interested in helping us get started or willing to take kids out on their boat for practices etc that would be great to hear from
