Wearing Gloves While Fishing?

Featured Replies

I just use the cheap pair at walmart and cut off the right thumb. I can get away with the pointer finger covered when using a spinning rod, but I might cut it off if its not too cold

Man you really have to love fishing to cut off a finger. Lol.

I have several pairs, from the White River fleece, up to some highly technical fly fishing mittens.  The mitts are probably your best bet, if you want to go from completely covered to open fingers.  Something like this pair from Glacier Gloves would be good for you:

I use GI issue green nomex flight gloves.  I can operate a casting reel in the winter and my hands stay warm.

My brother has cold urticaria (allergic to the cold, breaks out in itchy hives) and he uses Berkeley neoprene fishing gloves for ice fishing.

allergic to cold ... so lets go ice fishing?? Those berkeley gloves do get the job done though!

I bought a pair of gloves a few days ago.. my baseball batting gloves didn't seem to so the trick... so I stopped wearing them all together nothing is more annoying then trying to fish with purple hand because of the wind....  and my snowmobiling gloves were a little to big for fishing
