Older But Brand New Crankbait Reels

I was buying up reels and rods for my new boat in the early 90's when I had two knee operations that's another story.

I just found five new crankbait rod setups with new reels covered in dust. I think I used one or two of them very little. There over a decade old but the reels weren't that cheap at that time.

I found a MITCHELL ACCUPRO bait caster reel with 5 ball bearings, a flipping switch and a magnetic braking system. This reel is very smooth.

It's a pro600 made in Korea.

My other reel is a QUANTUM HEAT HT 400 with a magnetic brake adjustment too.

My other three baitcasters are round body reels I remember one of them being around $80 years ago. Look like I have some good old new reels I had already. Now I'll clean them up and change the rods to better ones with more backbone for bass fishing. Reline them and I'm good to go. One rod I found is a Pinnacle bait casting rod. I remember getting it discounted when a local Wal-Mart was moving to another building.

Ever forget about what you bought that you used a few times or never used that just collected dust for years?

I just saved some $$$ but I'd still would like a new bait caster with the brakes. Someday.

I'm thinking instead of buying a new car in the spring I may go for a boat......I been hinting the misses.....bigbill

I've suffered from C.R.S. for as long as I can remember.................What was I saying?  Although I haven't forgotten I owned a particular rod/reel, I have forgotten where I left a couple.  The most heart breaking was leaving one of my favorite spinning outfits leaning against a tree when friends and I took off for home.  I was only thirteen at the time and it had taken me most of the year to save up for that outfit.   Can't say I learned my lesson though because I'm missing a muskie combo I know I didn't leave somewhere, but it isn't with the rest of my gear. :Idontknow:

When it comes to tackle, I'm constantly finding new, in the package stuff I totaly forgot I had.  If I were more organized, I'd keep all my gear in one place. With my memory though, I'd likely forget where that was.

The new reel with brakes you should have covered, with that new fantastic reel you just got the great deal on from China, with that new reel I doubt the ones you just found get must use.. with these new finds your are are all geared up know!!!  Congrats on all the great new gear!!!  :ok-wink:

Some older "new" stuff is good, I bough a brand new rod from 1992, it still had the tags on and the cork was covered in plastic with the BPS bar code tag still on. The rod is a glass cranking rod, it is a Quantum Tour U S A, the last ones that were made in America. It is a glass cranking rod, that particular model used a Lamiglas E-Glass blank and is a kill cranking rod, back in the day it was over $100 but I paid $23.00 shipped, most of it was shipping and as I said, it is high quality. Depending on the model you have, some of your equipment may be made in America stuff but it would have been pretty expensive but it is worth a look. BTW, congrats on the find, now hit the water and do some crankin'!!!
