Anyone thrown one of these with success?

Featured Replies

Luhr Jensen Deep Secret Crankbait. Its maybe a 3/8 oz bait.

Theory is that its not always necessary to throw huge baits when going deep. This one is supposed to go way deep, but wont wear you out when cranking all day.

It just came in the mail as I purchased it on Ebay

Anyone thrown one? If so,how did you like it?

excellent bait, not super popular, but it should be. Its one of the deepest running "small" baits out there and catches a lot of fish if you put it in the right places.

These are good baits, I have a few of them.   They don't get wet very often because,  basically, this shape, with a few alterations became the Timber Tiger - which IMO is a better bait.  The DC 16 and the DC13 have the same steep diving angle, but they come through timber and brush much better.

The Timber Tiger is made by Wordens

The Deep Secret(as Shown) "was" made by Luhr-Jensen(Now a discontinued bait)

Did Luhr Jensen sell the rights of the Deep Secret to Wordens?

I know Luhr Jensen still makes the Hot Lips Express which is also a deep diver

Looks like a Luhr Jensen Hot Lips to me.  This a very underrated bait.  One of my favorite crankbaits to reach the 10 to 12 foot range.  They seem to hit max depth really quick so they are effective on steep banks.  The Delta Red, Chrystal Craw and Mud Craw are my favorite patterns.  Fish that dude!!  Put some Owners or Gammi's on it first.

It is up there with Mann's 20+ lures

they are fish catchers.. I have bought a lot of ebay because they are getting really hard to find. I dont fish deep cranks a lot here in FL but there are some man made lakes I fish that I do fish deep cranks and this lure is one of very few I throw! they get bit A LOT..

Are these different then the hot lips express baits?
