I'm Swim Jigging Today

Featured Replies

Though its a little hot, today after work I'm gonna bring my setup I use for casting, and I'm gonna bring three swim jigs with me. Shad/w white swim bait trailer, blue gill/w brown single tail grub trailer, and black n blue/w a craw trailer or creature.

Report will come later. Hopefully with pics

Pretty good night! Started off bad with me loosing my shad/white swim jig. But not to long after I caught a nice one using the black/ blue swim jig with a zoom craw trailer (the bass in day light). After that I switched to the bluegill swim jig with a single tail grub trailer. Caught a smaller bass but when I landed it, it came unhooked and flopped back to its home.. By this time all my trailers I had with me where shredded. So all I had left was a creature bait. I forget what it's called but the term multi-craw or multi-creature comes to mind, tho I'm probably way off. It's a dark purple color with black flakes....something like that. Anyway it's got good action to it and I rigged it on my bluegill swim jig and caught the last bass of the night (the bass in night pic). About that time it was getting late so I had to head home...gotta work early. I'll attach some pics.

Btw, I might of found a nice combo with that bluegill/purple trailer. It was dark by then so maybe that did factor in. I dunno, worth a try again

Nice fish

Sounds like a good time, and if your like me losing one jig justifies buying a handful of new ones!!!

Setting the hook with a jig is right up there with topwater bites in my book.
