Hey guys, new to the forum here. I just have a quick question. How do you go about fishing a new body of water you have never fished before? I'm talking the Nashua, not very wide, maybe 30 feet across in widest area where I am but all in all generally narrow.It's very slow moving water that in my few of experiences of being on it has the clarity of a cup of coffee. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

Welcome to the forums, not sure I could answer your question as I too am trying to learn the river. But there are a bunch of great people on here that will have a lot of info for you.

I fish the Nashua river in Nashua a lot. Never in Mass. , for me , at night black jitterbug , weeds a white mouse - just shake it let sit -- shake lets sit, rage tail craw at all stick ups , logs , edges of weeds, etc.... anywhere you can find structure. and slow down , fish these craws slow slow slow, ',,,,

i like weightless or almost weightless, but keel weighted works awesome also. look here also ... This is from Shane J , He posted it earlier, they have been awesome this year,, i like th dark colors in the Nashua river, However , pearl white has worked well also. I have not rigged this picture as of yet, but next time out for sure.

What kind of fish are you catching in there?

Some Smallmouth bass  but mostly Largemouth Bass and Pickerel
