Northstar Jig Weed Guard?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, just got my Northstar jigs today and they are fricken amazing! I was just curious as to if you guys cut the weed guard at all? The weed guard is long but not stiff at all so I am thinking of just leaving them alone.

Leave it. Like you said they are not overly stiff like some brands so having them a bit long is ok.

I fish mine straight out of the package. Just throw on your favorite trailer and you're good to go.

If you trim them shorter they get stiffer. Try cutting some strands from the base.

I almost never mess with them.

That was pretty quick turn around! I leave mine be. I will on occasion fan them out some but for the most part I leave them alone.

base that off the cover you are fishing and the rod you fish it on.
