Finesse bait

Featured Replies

1/8 football jig w/ wire guard and some tiny craw trailer. All black.

Zoom finesse worm t-rigged, weightless or weightless but twitched the latter being deadly last year :)

For some time now, I have been thinking about this and finally looked it up. Finesse is listed in the dictionary as a noun (delicate skill) or (cunning, strategem, trick). But we in fishing refer to it as an adjective as in "finesse bait".

Based on the definition, any bait can be a "finesse bait' if we use it with "delicate skill" and we are "cunning...".

Having said that, my favorite is the same year round - a ZOOM ultravibe speedworm - I may vary the colors depending on the water and may even add a little dye to the tail in some situations but I fish 'em as long as the water is soft.

Beat me to it.  You can finesse anything.  You can also power fish anything.

don't we all fish with finesse when fishing with plastics? to me finesse fishing is deadsticking a bait.

If there are still longer weeds, weightless wacky Jackall Flickshake worm.  If the weeds are shorter, same worm, dropshotted wacky or nose hooked.

for me it would be zoom c tail worm on 3/16 or 1/8 or 1/16 depends on weather

on 2/10 braid its the bomb

I agree with some of the posters that finesse is a style more than a bait.  For instance I flip Zoom trick worms to heavy standing timber on 65lb braid quite often.

zoom trick or finesse worm
