Pond Temps

Featured Replies

What is the best way to test water temps from the bank?

I use my toes haha. In all seriousness, I look up lake temps for nearby popular lakes online to get a ballpark guesstimate as to my lake temperature

I carry a stream-type thermometer and attach it to the line and let it sit in the water for a while (30 seconds).

thanks

I have this amazing thermometer I got at LL Bean's.........it not only measures temp at the surface but also at different depths ( measures depth also). You can tie it on your line and cast it. I use it a lot, especially when I'm trying to pinpoint turnover, spawn, etc. I'm guessing other places have them also :)
