Lews Reels + St. Croix Rod Advice

Featured Replies

Hey Fellas,

Just found out my college team got sponsored from Lew's, and I honestly have no idea where to start. They have so many reels in the same price range, it's hard for me to choose what I need, so I figured I would ask people with Lew's experience. I know that the next additions to my arsenal need to be a frogging combo and a shaky head combo. I was thinking about a BB1 Pro reel in 7.1:1 for my frogging setup, but is that the right one (I only want to spend up to $200)? What really makes a difference between the BB1 Pro and the Tournament Pro though? For my shay head setup, I'm going with a spinning setup, and the nicest spinning reel Lew's has is the Lew's Team Gold Carbon, does anyone have any experience with these? I'm set to use Lew's because they are giving me a discount and I'm planning on pairing them each with St. Croix rods, because they are one of our sponsors. If you guys want to know what rods I'm thinking of pairing the reels with I can post them as well.

Thanks in advance!
