I am in need of replacing my Fish finder that is mounted on the bow of my boat. Presently I have a Lowrance HDS5 Gen 2 mounted at the console. I am thinking or shall we say over thinking what FF to get. Here are few on my options and reasons why:

Move the HDS5 to the bow and get a HDS7 with structure scan at the console. This will allow me to share waypoints, and have structure scan on both units. For the xtra bucks is it worth it?

Move the HDS5 to the bow and get a Lowrance Elite 7 at the console with down imaging. Cheaper, have down imaging, can’t share way points and no down imaging at the bow.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I run a HB 798 si/di combo at the console and a 597ci hd di on the bow. Don't know much about the Lowrance units though.
