Snell Knot For T-Rigs

Featured Replies

So if you are chunking a t-rig under and around docks or wood/brush.. is a snell knot okay in this situation? I am new to the snell knot  but wanted to see where all it "could" be used efficiently

Also Can you do a snell knot on an offset hook or a EWG offset or is it strictly for the flipping hook?

Yes

Also Yes and Yes.

I use it for every texas rig appliation with the exception of a T-rigged Swimbait.  I haven't noticed any negatives with it and I have a ton of confidence in it.  I really like it on Offset Worm hooks, the geometry of the eye and the hook point make it work really well and provide a very positive hook up.

Snell will work for sure. You can snell that hook if you want.

I personally  use a san diego jam. I find it faster to cut and retie, never had it break, and hook-up ratio never a problem. Definitely worth a try if you are experimenting with knots.

I snell my straight shank hooks and am happy with it as well.

Ditto..

Especially on a straight shank hook, but it's just as effective on a off set or skip gap style hook which is what I only use now.

I snell any hook I can safely snell.

I even worked out a method to snell a weedless wacky hook, but personally find the 5 turn Uni to be more suitable to such baits.
