Please Help With Cold Water Fishing.

I am new to tournaments and have really only ever fun fished. well since i am doing tournaments now i need to know what is good for cold water fishing.. (Febuary,March,Possibly april) after that its pre spawn/spring fishing hopefully. any tips for me? my tournaments are mcclure eastmen, millerton. those lakes.

X2...Then when March & April arrive start throwing shallow running jerkbaits & small cranks

Look for the warmest water you can find. That is where the more active fish will be.

Big fish WILL rarely hunt down a slow bait in cold water. Fish a crank and get them to react to it. No they won't chase a crank, but will snap it up if it bangs off structure right in front of it.

Good luck on crank bait fishing during the winter? If your fishing tournaments on these res. use a tube, jig, drop shot or float & fly. Green pumpkin or clear salt & pepper tubes will full the live well fast.
