I live on the Chick and have been fishing it since 1981. I would be happy to have you by the house where we can examine a map and discuss topics specific to the Chick. Fishing is a possibility, but the weather is going to have to improive to get my old bones out there.

 

The upper river is my territory (Walkers to Diascund). I can't be of much help on the lower river. I would be happy to show you what I know.

Many places to fish frm the dam to Diascund and into the creek.

 

I love Diascund Creek. Great place to float down the bank and throw your drop shot.

 

WATCH THE GAME WARDENS.  Last year the game wardens were on Diascund Creek giving out tickets for make a wake within 50- feet of a dock or boat house. Go slow and watch your wake in Diascund Creek.

 

May I inquire what event you will be fishing the Chick?

 

One more think for you to dream about. The tournament big fish of 6.9 or almost seven pounds was caught in the Chick River. So those Florida strain ladies are still in the river and creeks just waiting for you.

it is a tourny with an OLD club i used to fish with my buddies boat is broke down, An he wanted to use mine so i decided to just go with him, he knows a little but, When the weather gets a little better me an Don are gonna meet up an he has some things he wants to show me an give me some help! So im very thankful that he haas offered to help. I hope i can get on some nice girls i only fished the chick twice an we launched down off rt 5 an we stayed down that way. Its been bout a year now since i fished it.

Route 5 is a hike up the entire length of the river to the dam.

 

Be sure to purchase a new GMCO map of the Chick so you can go through the Thoroughfare and not get confused on which way to turn when you exit the shortcut.

 

Have fun and remember, an easterly wind shuts down the Chick.
