Buzzing Gears

Featured Replies

Just a quick question for the reel repairment/tuners out there.

I just recently broke down my Curado 201G7 and cleaned it. I regreased the gears with not too little, not too much grease.

Now when I turn the handle of the reel, it makes a slight buzzing sound, almost like the gears are making the noise. Like if you push a windup car instead of winding it and letting it go, just not quite as loud.

I took the reel apart and double checked the schematic. Nothing's out of place or re-installed incorrectly, yet it still makes the noise, even cleaned and re-lubed.

Any ideas?

Not sure how it fixed itself, but I kept messing around with it, and after taking it apart and checking to make sure I re-installed everything correctly, it seems to have stopped.

I love it when that happens :)
