I forgot that I have a Shimano Corvalus 300 CVL that an old boss gave me as a work anniversary gift. What do you guys think about using it as a punch reel? The drag is pretty robust. I don't fish tourneys so holding it for 8 hours straight isn't an issue.

    I'm not saying that it wouldn't work, I personally wouldn't use it to punch though. I like a faster, low profile reel for that. I think it would be more suited for big cranks and swimbaits though.
