Eufaula Recommendations

Featured Replies

My "guys trip" will be at Lake Eufaula (OK) this Spring.  I've driven over the lake on the way to Tenkiller but never stopped.  Anybody have recommendations for areas to fish?  Also need a good place to tent camp.

Thanks!

I have only fished Eufaula a handful of times, and boy has it been hit or miss. Some days I couldn't stop catching bass and crappie, others I couldn't catch a cold. My girlfriends grandparents have a lake house down by the city of Eufaula so that's where I frequent. I know down in eufaula cove by the marina there is tent spots. Also if they are doing it this year, there is a local tackle shop that puts on a tournament every sat. The meet up is at braums in Eufaula and anyone is welcome to join, there are really great people. When you decide to head that way give me a message on here and I'll see if we'll be going down there, and I'll show you where I caught most my fish.

Yeah, don't do it.

A&M Baits has their store in Eufala. You might be able to go to their website and get some info or give them a call for advice.

I fish the Elm Point area mostly. There is a camping area at the ramp. Fish are hard to find sometimes but they are there. If you fish that area get a map. I printed out a google earth view for mine. Early season (now) I stick to the mud creek and blue creek channels and surrounding areas. If you want crappie the bridge on hwy 31 farthest from ramp is a great area. If an old man with a beard shows up in an aluminum boat, don't crowd me out. There is an old hwy that runs parallel to hwy 31 flooded now north of hwy between the 2 bridges that usually has 2 to 6 ft of water over it and drops off to 12 to 15 ft on the north side of hwy that usually holds bass somewhere along it. You can see the old bridge abutments so it is easy to find without electronics. There are also some bluffs nearby with flooded timber at each end that holds bass and crappie. The timber isn't visible without electronics, though. If you decide to fish there PM me for more info.
