I really love the Revo Inshore for Swimbait fishing. It's small and light but holds more line than the Revo S. The gear ratio is what I like the most, 6.4:1. This ratio seems to work best for me with my swimbaits that I use. I noticed that all of the Inshore reels coming out now are all faster gear ratios and none are offering this 6.4 other than Lew's and possibly Daiwa if they still make the cheaper inshore reel they came out with. 

 

Anyone know why this isn't offered these days?

 

I'll probably just buy the BB1 Pro and be done with it.

More inches per turn I pretty important in a lot of inshore fishing.  Mac's, blues, Jacks even Snook sometimes want a bait running as fast as it can be done.  As long as there's power in the reel. I think that plus constant winds is why spinning reels are preferred by the majority of inshore anglers. 

This does make sense. Maybe when they were first introduced there was demand for this change and this is why we're seeing it go this way. I didn't mean they should make these for swimbaits at all of course. I just like the smaller reel with higher line capacity and tougher guts. However, I've done very well with Revo S. It throws a Hudd for miles! lol...I think the Lews BB1 Pro or Inshore will do the trick. I like the braking system concept on that BB1 Pro...sounds like a winner!! Thank you for your response!

The lews inshore is cool, 14 pounds max drag and drain holes to was down, tougher guts but not a higher price that the pro....just was talking with a guy about his lexa 300 too for inshore/swimbait reels. That is a bigger reel though. The iron pt is also offered in a 6.4 ratio. Do you like the smaller size reels? One of the three will be my next reel.

Be careful with those lews with the drain holes. I fish out of a Jon boat and with the rods sitting across both bench seats reels hang upside down. During a sudden Fl. afternoon rain I had 3 curado's take in a lot of water. My Daiwa Sol's stay'd dry inside.
