Fishing The Southwest

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I'm heading down to Arizona (Phoenix area) in a week for a bit of a vacation. After this brutally cold winter I can not wait to get on some open water again!

My questions for ya'll is this, at this time of year are the bass there in pre-spawn, spawn, or post-spawn already? Any tips you guys got for Arizona bass would be great.

I may have access to a kayak, but I could be shore-bound as well. Looks like I will be going to Alamo, or Bartlett Lake, maybe both.

I went to saguaro lake the past 2 weekends and it has been pre spawn. A lot of sight fishing. With the temps in the 80's fishing has been good. I shore fish at the cove around butcher Jones area.

Hey Thanks gric-az, all my family wanted to go to Lake Pleasant, so that where I mostly went fishing, was pretty much stuck to the south side of the lake, it sounds like the bass were mostly north side. I did catch a few fish though. I was really hoping to go to Alamo while I was down, I heard some real good reports from up there.
