I have an old Navionics Card southeast.  I need another card for the front depth finder I have.  

 

I was told that I could purchase the update version of Navionics as long as my card was a legit card and download the new info on a SD card.

 

Will this work?

 

Should I just buy a new card and be done with it?

 

I am only interested in premium version.

The Navionics Update card is a program that lets you use your present card to verify that you own Navionics products. $99 retail

You purchase the Update card, register it online, verify it with your card and you end up with the Navionics+ version where you choose what locations to download to the card from anywhere in the country including coastal areas covered by the Gold maps.The max data capacity is 2GB.

Check your present card size for comparison.

You don't loose the function of your present card, you just can't verify another purchase with it.

 

The Navionics+ version includes the Sonar Charts program

 

Premium, Platinum, and +  have the exact same maps for a particular location if updated the same day. The current maps can be viewed on the Navionics web site WEB APP. That is updated daily.

I have been trying for over 6 hours to update my navionics card via navionics chart installer.

 

the nautical chart and sonar charts appear to update but the community part never does...it just says updating.....I have left it alone for over an hour.....any ideas?

Thanks Wayne...............I will give that a try tonight...............it was 10 for sure.

The new update card will let you select your area upto 2gb and will give you the SonarCharts layer. If you use the majority of the lakes on the chart I would suggest getting the new south chart right now you can pick a platinum up for 170 till end of month and it comes with a year of updates. Also if your running it in a hummingbird unit the community layer will not show up unless it's the new omni.

Keep in mind that there is a purge function on the new Navionics + and Navionics Updates. Being that you can delete lakes off your card and download new maps makes these cards a good buy for most users.

Is the Navionics Sonar charts available on the premium or just platinum?  

 

If it is only available on the platinum I think I would be better buying Navionics+.

The Premium version does not have the Sonar Charts feature.
