Bps Bionic Blade Rod

Featured Replies

Im thinking of getting one of these (6'6", MED-HVY, Fast) for spinners, jigs, and topwater. Going to be ordering it online, so cant handle the rod in person.

BPS advertises this rod with a feature called "M8 blank with ArmorCore Technology"

ArmorCore Technology—a stronger-than-steel aramid fiber core, wrapped with strong, flexible fiberglass, and finished with layers of IM8 and IM7 graphite to make this one of the most powerful, lightweight rods you'll ever fish with.

Does all the layers of material make this rod heavy/bulky? And how is the sensitivity of a composite rod compared to a pure fiberglass or a pure graphite rod?

A pure graphite rod is more sensitive than a composite or pure fiberglass rod. IMO, there are better rods for the price. I would look around in the classifieds or CL or wait for a sale and get a nicer rod for less.

Bionic Blades are good rods.  They're comparable to an Abu Garcia Vendetta with the new micro guide Bionic Blades being a little bit better balanced than a Vendetta.  Bionic Blades are also a little bit slower in action than rated.  Expect them to be MF instead of a true fast action.

O really? So I need a XF for a true F?

Can you recommend me some? I need my rods to be 2 piece so i can fit them into a travel case. My budget is $150, max.

i got a 7 MH paired with my T3 and I hope it it is a good buzzbait rod

$400+ reel on an $80 rod? Do that reel some justice. :bushy-browed:

lol  was on sale, what can you expect... plus ole buzzbaits dont take much sensitivity

I own 3 bionic blade 7' ML with cork handles and 2 bionic blade micro 7' M Fast and one 6' L action spinning rods and love everyone of them. I would steer you to a Medium or Medium Heavy more universal for multiple techniques. Very light and sensitive, balanced (IMO).
