Very Old Rod/reel Combo

Featured Replies

Just out of curiosity has anyone heard of a Hurd Supercaster. It is a small rod with the reel built in.The rod portion is made of steel and they came in 4 ft. or 6 ft. My dad passed in 2002 and when over at brother's (he inherited the house) house I found this in the basement. I cleaned it up and it does work fairly well. In trying some research I found they were made in the 1940's era. I don't know if I will ever fish with it especially since there is no line on it but it would look good hanging on the wall. Sometimes I feel it is good to look back and realize how far we have come and all the advancements in gear, lures and techniques. Happy fishing everyone.
