I am looking for a very inexpensive spinning rod.  I do not use one that often and I do not want to spend a lot of money.

 

I plan on using this rod with shakey heads and light texas rigs with 8lb test line.  Right now I am using a 7' medium Mojo St. Croix and I feel like I am not getting a good hook set.  

 

Would the Academy 6'10" medium heavy be a good setup?
