New Setup Help

Featured Replies

Hey guys i need help with a new setup for a jig/worm or plastic/ frog setup. The rod has to be longer than 7'3" as I love the casting distance of longer rods. Yes I can cast any baitcaster as long as they have the magnetic brakes (haven't figured out to set the other style of brakes). My piece range I van spend on both a reel and rod is most likely $200-250 price rangbe maybe if I wait till my birthday (June 1st). That will open up to $250-$350 dollar price range so try to give me something for one or the other if you can.

Thanks

Jay

I would save some money and go with a *** black rod. At 100 bucks a pop and honestly a top quality rod you could get two and still save a bit of money

Dobyns Champion 735c will let you do both frogging and bottom contact techniques very well. If you can get one on sale you can find it for ~200, used for ~175. Then get whatever reel you want to put on top.

iRod 754 either there gensis 2 or air series would double down for a good frog and jig rod.
