My First Lm Bass Of The Year On First Ever Whacky Rig

Featured Replies

It ain'y nothing to write home about, but it's a large mouth. Plus I caught it on my first attempt at whacky rigging. Hopefully the  stink is off of me now. :respect-059:

Went to this small local pond with my son and wife with only 3 bags of stick worms and my spinning gear. There were some biggn's in there but they were busy doing the  horizontal Tango.

I'm just curious how did that blood get on his tail, was he foul or deep hooked?

Now thats a beast!! :eyebrows:  Glad you got your first of the year! Iv never caught a fish on a wacky rig.. And thats not for lack of trying. On a side note, that pond looks sweet judging by the background.

Didn't notice that until I saw the picture, no I got him in the side of the mouth. He did bleed a little, checked his gills they looked ok.He was fine when I released him.

Yeah, it's nice, but it isn't that big. I'm pretty much on the opposite end of it. There's is some nice three lbrs in there, but like I mentioned they were busy making chidrens. I must of dropped the plastic in front of those guys 100 times but like usuall they ain't thinking about eating. There are plenty of panfish, heard some nice catfish, one giant black carp, and 2 coi, very diverse. I'm surprised this little pond survived the winter. I guess the borough it's in takes really good care of it. Plus it's catch and release only.
