This is one of those lures i've had in my hand a dozen times, i just end up checking out with something else. has anyone tried it? if so any luck and how did you fish it? i would imagine it to be an erratic topwater lure, but i'm not sure.

It is a fun lure. I usually have my son use them and he catches about a ton of sunfish on them. Every once in a while a bass.

I have a few of these. They are nice little ultralite lures. Have had some good success with these along with crickhoppers. Bass and sunfish. I would recommend changing the hooks out for stronger ones. I had to on all mine since I've had bass bend and straighten out the stock hooks. size 14 hooks I think. I've had the most success on the green junebug chrome color. Bass seem to love it.

Definitely a fun little lure. I throw it around the shallows and usually get hit right as it lands. Throw it around brush and logs as though a bug fell off and into the water. Caught a few that way this past weekend. Bring some pliers though, the little trebles stick to fingers and bass lips equally well.

those little rebel floater-diver lures are fun multispecies lures to fish with. whether its the bumblebug, or crickhopper, or the craws, and even smaller the tad fry...

I used the bumble bee one at a secret hidden pond with big DD LMB. The bass would bite but when I caught a sunfish on it I could see a bass swimming over to eat it. It happen so fast I panicked and pulled the sunfish out of the water as the bass caught up to it. Big bass eat big sunfish.

Ha, yeah that bait catches em pretty good. Back before I knew any better I tied one of those on and caught 17 largemought on 17 consecutive casts.

 

Best five totaled went 15 ounces!! great pond fishing lure but with those tiny hooks you dont have a prayer of getting any size back to the boat.

 

I miss those days.

While I've never used the bumble bug, I do use the wee crawfish a lot on my UL setup. It catches tons of big bluegill along with quite a few bass. Their small jointed minnows are also very productive. I'm sure the bumble bug is just as good.

I never used the bumble bug but the cricket hopper is a trout slayer, especially in moving water.
