 Hello everyone!

I'm new to Bass Resource and have read a lot of the articles, and learned a ton but I still cant seem to catch a bass. Now that I'm 16 I can go whenever I want and now I'm really hooked on Bass fishing ( No pun intended :D).I live in Columbus, Ga and I've gone to a few local small ponds and get nothing but old leaves, yet I know a bass has to be in there, I see brim and lots of minnows right on the bank of the pond. I have gone over to Chattahoochee river but you cant hardly fish there because the only public areas to fish that I know of are nearly impossible to fish because of the current with the new White Water course.

I was wondering if there is anyone who lives near me and knows some good fishing spots(bank fishing) I can try, and what and I can try to use to catch a bass. I've tried just about everything... Spinnerbaits, Topwater baits, Weighted and Non weighted Fluke worms, Trick worms, Crankbaits, Jigs... just about everything.

Even if you don't live in my area, any advice or tips you have to offer would be greatly appreciated!!

The best piece of advice I can give you is to get on google maps . Then you can scour the area for little holes in the wall water systems . Some of which can produce some of the biggest fish , and fun . You have access to the river , there are some places to fish but you're going to have do to your home work . I do the same with the etowah river , drive around and Inspect every piece of shore front you can find  and  get out of the car and walk around take pictures and make marks on a map so I have places to fish . As far as baits I have success with finesse jigs , with craw trailer , texas rig lizards , shakey heads your typical river system forage . Anything that will give a break in the current , stumps , logs , bridge pylons etc . If you can find any slack in the water right before or after current I have also have had some success . Hope this helps btw .

I'm pretty new to GA myself (Douglasville) and have been using google maps to find places to fish.  It isn't easy because you have to sort out lakes that are private or no-access.  It takes time and patience but there are lots of small ponds and lakes that hold decent bass.  I've been fishing at Boundary Waters Park in Douglas county lately and have had some success there.  It's a small lake but there are some 2-3 pounders in there.

I have had the most success with plastics, Senkos and Yum Dingers mostly.  Also lipless cranks seem to still be working.  With the weather being hot, the fish are getting more and more finicky.  Time to slow down and try to get to the deepest water you can find.

With my next available expendable income I'm going to invest in a kayak or canoe to reach better water.  I don't know when that will be, but it will definitely help.
