Best Bass Lure

Featured Replies

If you guys had to pick the best lure for bass the one that you catch the most fish on what would it be. Also does I work all year round I need a lure that works great in the summer warmer water temps. I'll be fishing in mostly big ponds but the depth varies

Squarebill cranks there's always gonna be some bass feeding shallow and that's where the squarebill shines, I wouldn't be afraid to say its in the top 5 bass lures ever made heck maybe even #1???

wacky rigged (insert favorite stickbait here) is probably the easiest lure to catch fish on besides a shakey head. Both work nearly all year round.

Rapala original floater size 7, silver black back. Best. Lure. Ever.

Plastic worms. For me they are the most versatile bait. Cranks work well but only at given depths, times etc. I can catch bass on plastic worms anytime any way.

This......learn to fish a texas rigged worm. Simple to learn and catches big and small fish.

Yes Texas rigged worms catch fish so in terms of the best lure... I feal it takes the prize. Worms fished correctly will consistently catch bass.

Wow. Gotta either be a plastic worm, or a red eye shad in chartreuse baitfish for me. I'm more of a power fisherman so I guess the red eye shad.

Ask 100 different anglers this question and you will get 100 different answers.  There is no best lure.  Whatever works for you and what you have confidence in.  My confidence bait is a wacky rigged senko, dinger, ocho, flick stick, whatever.  For example, today I fished 3 different crankbait colors, a plastic swimbait, a jig n trailer, and a wacky yum dinger.  I purposefully fished the crankbaits and jig because I am not a very good jig fisherman but I want to be and I wanted to get a lot of practice with it.  Had a few hits on the crankbaits and jig, none on the swimbait, which is odd because I usually catch fish on the swimbait.  I fished for 6 hours before I decided I have to go to a wacky jighead and get my confidence up.  20 minutes later I landed my first fish of the day, a 2.5lb bass.  I hooked it in the corner of the jaw in the sweet spot.  I will fish a wacky weightless or jighead anytime, anywhere and most likely catch fish on it, but thats me. :)

Spinnerbaits they can be fished slow or fast, deep or shallow

Totally agree.  It can be fished at several different speeds/depths and mimics some type of baitfish is just about every body of freshwater.
