I took one of my Grandson's fishing one evening a couple days ago, gave him his choice of where he wanted to go, the river where we get big cats, a small lake where we get Bass, or a little Lake we never fished. He wanted to check out the new water. In an hour and a half later we had 2 big blue gill 10"  and 14 Perch all nice most over 12" . Yesterday I took his brother to see if it was a flook or if IT was a "Perch Honey Hole" 20 min. away from home that we had never knew about. It paid of we got 24 this time and all over 11". I don't know when "we will go back" go back, but now I'm sure this will be "OUR" secret Perch hole.

Nice haul of perch.  For getting and keeping kids interested, nothing beats a honey hole like that!

Are they good?? You bet they are!! Fresh lake perch are the best eating fish there is.

Day 2 looks like there were some pretty big ones! Nice job

Both days the fish were the same, nothing caught under 10" the first day we had one under 11" the second day all were between 11" and 12 1/2". in two days of fishing it we only threw 3 fish back, and 2 of those were over 7". The smallest Bluegill was 9 1/2" which means I need to do sme searching, cause there has to be a good number of big gills in there also!! But it will have to wait, right now it is getting hot and the river is clearing up so it's time to fun fish, Smallmouth my favorite fun fish!!!!
