Whats the difference in the materials these molds are made from? Are there any major disadvantages to having a silicone?

    Aluminum molds are the ultimate! Silicone molds have few advantages and the finish of the lure will be dull unless you always brush some oil into the cavity. Some aluminum molds are only available in certain lure designs, whereas silicone or plaster molds may work. But even they have their limitations.  Is the price x9 worth it for aluminum. For lure appearance yes, for lure catchability - no.

    Aluminum molds are worth the extra $ IMO.  I'm not a big fan of silicone, I do have a few molds I've made from resin.
