Hummingbird Gps Problem

Featured Replies

Please help, I have a 597 ci hd, it has the GPS receiver inside the unit. Unit worked fine for a little over a year. Since then the GPS sometimes quits working. It may start working again on it's own, sometimes turning off and back on helps. Sometimes it wont work for days. If I go into the menu it says "GPS receiver not connected" Has anyone experienced this problem? Can anyone point me in a direction to fix it before I send to Hummingbird for repair? Any insight or help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Yes, I have seen that discussed several times.

If the unit is still under warranty, call Humminbird to arrange service.

If not warranty, some have purchased an external GPS antenna instead of paying the flat rate repair charge.

You can see the repair charges on the Humminbird web site FAQ section.

Do a web search or check Ebay for Humminbird GR-50 GPS antenna.
