Heading Down To Okeechobee This Weekend

Featured Replies

Not sure if it's a great idea to go 4th of July weekend but its the only weekend I could go this month.

So what's working and what's not? I'm going to have 3 days to fish all day. I know the southern end can produce some trophy bass. Need your help guys!

Wish I could help. All I can say is one word.....jealous!

I'm tempted to go out this weekend. Not sure if I want to deal what will probably be a good crowd out there. Would be going out of Slims if I go. Probably throw swimbaits and moving baits early in the day before doing some flipping. Odds are ill end up at Lox instead. The water should be up enough to get out into the flats some.

Best fish being caught off shore, if you dnt know your way around out there, there are bluegill beds EVERYWHERE. Most water is gin clear, been hard to catch em after the sun gets high. Top water in am then dragging worms or senkos been best for me anyway. Only 1 bag over 20 last weekend at slims. 17.8 second. Good luck!

Thanks everybody! I just got a goPro so if all goes well I'll have a video to share in about a week. First day is tomorrow, hopefully it doesn't rain to much.

I just got back from a 3 day trip from Okeechobee. It was fantastic. We had the best guide and he put us on some nice fish. I ended up with 3 biggest ones at 7.5 and 6.75 and 6.25 lbs. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I am planning on heading back down there in January when the 10 lb mama's come out to play.
