Buying Tackle

Featured Replies

I have 250$$ to buy fishing gear how many rods and reveals should I get an what kind and what baits

Solved by TNBassin'

More info will help. That's one rod out one reel for me. Others might be a full combo. Others wouldn't be able to buy a rod or a reel with that much.

Son are you shore fishing or boat fishing?

Do you use spinning or bait casting reels?

Baits / lures desired? Crankbaits, plastics, topwater? Hard body swim baits? Soft body swim baits?

We can help you if you tell us what your looking for?

Shallow?  Topwater?  Mid to Deep?

Both shore and boat fishing

Baitcasting

Top water baits, jerk baits, hard body swim baits and cranks

Shallow top water and mid fishing

Probably a medium heavy power rod with a moderate action. 6:1 gear ratio on the reel.

Buy a Revo S and pair it with an Abu Veritas. Great combo that won't break the bank and it performs great.
