How long do you wait before moving to a different spot??

Depends on the type of bait I'm using. 

If I'm using top water or jerkbait, I'll cast in every direction twice then move on.

If I'm using soft plastic finesse bait, I'll sit there for a good 30 minutes or so. 

Depends on location and condition. If I got that "feeling" I will stay put. If not I move. I hunt fish so I trust my gut and I watch my surroundings. If I see fish or bait activity I will move towards that activity but if I'm in a high percentage spot I'll hang out. Time of year also plays a role how long I stay in a given spot. If I catch to many small fish I will move.

If I have caught fish in a particular area I will stay and fish it a while, but if I am looking for fish sometimes an area will get one or two casts as I am cruising through.

That can differ for me day to day. It depends on so many different things.

I usually like to cover lots of water so I'm sailing along a lot of the time but if the fish bite is slow I'll slowdown...

from boat or shore?

i'll move much quicker in a boat.

from shore i'll be much more thorough b/c there is only so much shore fishing real estate.

Since I fish for relaxation and fun, I am not a run and gun guy.  I fish places I have fished countless times over the years and trust the techniques used.  Therefore I will work a bait I trust and then switch to another bait if things are not working.  No bites in an hour and I'm off to my next spot.  You can't catch fish unless your lure is in the water!

 

More likely to move if its a new body of water.
