Kentucky Guy On Vacation In Fort Meyers

Featured Replies

First time ive ever posted on here. Figured theres plenty of you Floridas guys on here.

Im staying at my moms condo in fort meyers for a week and i love to bass fish. This place has 11 retaining ponds some of good size. Was wanting to get some info on what would be good to throw down here for the big girls this time of year. I brought 4 rods and all my gear so i have a little of everything. Thanks in advance for those of you willing to help fellow fisherman out!

Most any worms, Topwater in the morning or at night. squarebills if the grass isnt bad. swimbaits are good also.

Used to live an about an hour north of there in the 90's and still try to get down there to visit family from time to time. Bass fishing this time of the year can be tough. Many of the ponds in that area are shallow so the water gets quite warm. I always did best at night this time of year. As far as "what" to throw, it's not much different other than if you fish during the day, fish reallllly slowwwww. Also junebug anything always produced well for me if the water has a little color to it.

What are the go to baits at night around here? Ive tried buzzbaiys, spinner baits, flippin craws, bigg worms and torpedo baits with no luck.
