Sick Bass?

Featured Replies

Caught this guy near a manmade dam this morning. Fought hard the whole way to the yak when I got him in my hands I noticed the lack of bottom cartilage between his lower jaw and tongue area.  Also noticed a discolored tongue and a white spot midway along his right side.  Any ideas what this could be?  The body of water is fed by a river to the north and I have caught very large bass there pretty frequently.  There is also a large carp population there throughout the year.  Any tips would be great.  Thank you!

I catch bass with some nasty mouth wounds from anglers. Also white on fish is almost always bad. I wouldn't worry unless you start catching a bunch of messed up fish.
