You have answered your own question, it catches fish. Makes little difference if its beautiful or crude, if it catches fish thats the bottom line, so it looks great.

ok now i need some advice...  well i lied in my first post the black and silver one was what i thought an exact replica of the first one i made..  The first one ran perfect but for what ever reason would start to get water loged after about 45 min and not sit right on the water and would go under.....  But today i just tested out the replica (the one in the pic) and it seems to not get the job done.  Insted of being a top water it goes about 1/2''-1'' under the water so it realy does'nt get the poping affect...  just wondering why the other one made just about 100% exact would work perfect and this one seems to be a little off... I even tried teh yellow one and it was'nt running right eathier

If it catches fish, who cares what it looks like. Like Whittler said, it doesn't matter to the bass how good the paint job is. As long as the basic colors are the right ones for the bait you're trying to imitate the lure will be fine.
