Blackrock ( Phoenixville, Pa )

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any experience here? A buddy and I started going here just last summer; a few smallmouth, perch and 1 catfish. Anywho...I'm just trying to see if anyone out there has any feedback about this place. We do go out in a boat.

Much thanks!

I have never fished this spot but i hike around there a lot.  In the summer I have seen big bass in the shallows just walking around the pond looking for fish.  of course i never had a rod with me.  My one buddy said he had a huge fish on but it broke off.  Not to sure how deep it gets in there but i bet there are some good fish because its so hard to bank fish.  Defiantly have to get over there more this year.

This is the "lake" right next to the river?

Yup that's the "lake" haha.

Looks shallow, and weed(tree) choked(Google Earth) but "difficult" to fish is always good. Proximity to the river definitely means there's fish in there. Proximity to the dam on the river means there's other options. I definitely toss a line in there. Thx.

Oh yeah it is packed with down trees and brush everywhere.  It is cut off from the Schuylkill but they did put LM in when they made the pond.  Lots of trail blazing to get to spots but its a blast!  Like i said i hike it all the time but never fished it.  If you ever are planing on going down there let me know!

Another good thing is there is a boat launch to the Schuylkill right up the road and lock 60 just down the road on the other side of the river.  Lots of good fishing around that part!  Need to get the kayak down there for sure this summer!
