I'm heading out in a week to Nashville, Gatlinburg, and Memphis. Any lakes that are a must go? We will be in Gatlinburg the longest so I'm planning on hitting Lake Douglas.

Also if anyone has any cool attractions to see? Plan on going to Country music hall of fame and Beale st. Other than that we are winging it.

Memphis? Gotta go to Graceland!

You could do some ledge fishing at Pickwick or Beech Lake if you want something smaller. Nashville is cooler than Memphis unless it's May or Grizzlies playoff time.

Places to see in Memphis. Graceland, Beal st, Gibson Guitar Factory and Sun Records and last you might want to check out the Pink Palace . Keep your eyes open and watch your back.

If you go to North or South Memphis to buy drugs, you might get stabbed or shot.

If you park downtown and leave your wallet sitting on your console, it won't be there when you get back.

If you go for a 3am stroll by the river, you might get mugged.

Memphis is not much different than any other city. Bad stuff happens to people doing stupid and/or illegal stuff. I have lived here for 3 years after living in Philly and the NYC area and feel safer here than where we lived in Connecticut. Using your wits and watching your back is good advice no matter where you are.

I have Live in and around this area for 54 yrs out of my 60 yrs of life. Six yrs I was gone in the Army. Depends on how much money you want to spend on your room and if you have a boat with you. When your comming into Memphis on I-40 East of Town around exit #18 you have some nice motels. Down town On Riverside and on Main you have some Nice Hotels. Just south of Memphis on I-55 you have some nice motels in South Haven or Horn Lake Mississippi. Last about an hour away you have the Casinos on Hwy 61 . I hope This helps you.
