plaster paris molds?

Featured Replies

I have thought about getting into pouring my own plastics, since I will always save a buck here and there if I can.  I see folks posting on here that they make molds from plaster paris.  How do you do that?  Be as detailed as you can please. Thanks guys.

ive made a few. the best one i made is a senko one. first you need a pan to pour into. then you fill it half full of plaster and wait until it is thick enough for the bait to be supported from it. you also need to put 2 popsicle sticks in the mold straight up. once that is dry you put vasalene all over it, including the popsicle sticks so you can pop them apart. then you add plaster again over it, tapping the sides to get the bubbles out from it. once it is dry (i usually wait 45 min-1 hr) break the popsicle sticks close to the mold for easier putting the together and apart, then take it out of the pan and carefully take them apart with a screw driver. put Mod Podge on it for about 45 min. of drying and you are ready to pour. hope its descriptive enough.
