Looking To Upgrade The Handles On My Reel.

Featured Replies

I just got a St Croix Bass Mojo Slop-N-Frog rod with a Abu Garcia REVO3 SX reel. I love this combo with some 65 braid for frogging. My only issue is I wish the handle on the REVO SX was larger. My question is what handle do you guys think would be best to upgrade to?

I got a 95 mm aluminum handle from the abu revo shop. It is 30 bucks, uses the knobs that came with the reel.

The black matches the SX perfectly...IMO why pay 20 more unless you really like the look of CF then go with the lews.

Folks that tell you a weight diff are full of **** and splitting hairs. If you want a longer handle like 100-104 mm

then check out hawtech for a CF or hedgehog studio. Most daiwa handles will fit, you can get a sweet studio composite that resemebles the handles on the Abu Beast or an aluminum avail. They also carry the color handle nuts and endcaps.

Oh if you are looking to upgrade the knobs for the abu handle they are scarce. The abu revo shop has eva in two sizes for 25 bucks which isn't bad considering there are an array of cool daiwa knobs but they usually go for 25 each.

That's easy. Check out Hawgtech, awesome handles and customer service! Oh and they are a board sponsor!

Hawgtech 102mm for extra Torque and one heck of a sweet look

I agree, Hawgtech... Carbon Fiber, Top shelf, they can add color, anodize other pieces of you're reel if you desire, great, great service. A handle w/ bearings Abec 5 x 4 spindles is quite reasonable. I use them. I like them real well.
