Damaged Crankbaits

Featured Replies

I've got a couple of damaged expensive balsa crankbaits, one needs a lip replaced & the other needs a re-paint.  I remember seeing a web site that repairs baits but haven't been able to relocate it. can anyone help??

Gonzo, the answer your question is, yes they can be repaired and repainted. The next question is will the repair be more expensive than the original cost of the bait. Most repaints will cost from $8 to $12 with repairs going on up from there.

Pictured is a Rapala DT with a lip replacement, real Lexan and coffin shaped. DTs break their lips on a regular basis, at least thats been my experience, a real bummer when you get a bass to the net and it goes one way with the bait and your left with the lip. The DT pictured is bulletproof and did not require a repaint, since the lips can usually be removed with your fingers.
