I bought one of these yesterday in the Chartruse Shad color.

It came with a little clip in the front like what you tie to on a Chatterbait.  Is this clip necessary when using this BIG bait?  I can see where it could get caught up in the weeds and in timber and im only going to be throwing it on 10 lb test.  Is there anyone who loves these baits and is there anyone who dislikes them? if so id like to hear.
