Weekend Tournament Win

Featured Replies

We've had a pretty ridiculous run the last few weeks! Got second and lunker in back to back tournaments at Lake Wallenpaupack and then first and lunker at Promised Land State Park. I must say, it has been a great few weeks.

I took almost 30 hours of footage and made a 3+ minute highlight video out of it. Here it is! Check it out if you have a few minutes.

Sweet video. Keep up the good fishing.

Thanks! Took too many hours to make that video, haha. I had 25 hours of footage to cut down.

Nice videos, it's cool to see some pa videos. I will be headed to Wallenpaupack for the first time, the weekend of the 6th... Any tips?!?!

It can get tough there in the middle of the day when the boat traffic is insane and the sun is bright. There is a grass line all around the lake that the water has finally come down to as they have drawn it down all summer. Stay around the outer edges of that grass line and you should be able to do well for at least a few hours each day. The largemouth have been down in the grass lately so you might consider fishing deep in it.

Z-Dunham great post.

I'm thinking about taking a trip to Wallenpaupack this weekend. I know, I know it will be busy. I'm in the Lehighton area and have actually never been to Wallenpaupack so really I'n just going on a scouting mission. Which ever day I go, probably Sunday, I plan to get there early in the morning or will stay into the evening.

May I ask your opinion, coming from the south, which ramp should I use? I had been planning on using the free state fish and boat ramp on the north side but open to the voice of experience. Also, if giving a ramp suggestion, could you also suggest a starting point to fish?

Thanks

We usually launch out of the state ramp since all the tournaments are run out of there and its the only free one. I've mostly fished the very south end of the lake this year so I know where most of the grass is down there (there is grass at the north end in different spots as well, though). There are many spots. I haven't fished the north end for more than an hour total this year. It probably costs as much to make the run down the lake as it does to launch out of a pay ramp, but we like the run and in tournaments we have to make that run. If you only plan on fishing the south end it might be more cost effective to just pay and launch down there at a different ramp. Admittedly, I haven't been there in 2 weeks so I'm not sure if anything has changed. Look for grass! It is all over the place around the shores now that the water is drawn down. Sometimes they are in the grass sometimes they are a little deeper outside the grass. That's the stuff I prefer to fish. Other guys do very well there fishing exclusively for smallmouth in the steeper/rockier areas so I'm sure that could work, too.

Thanks Z-Dunham

Will give this a try.

Nice video and congrats keep up the great work

Awesome video man enjoyed that a lot! I have tons of footage I've been putting off that needs to get cut down, this final product makes me a little more motivated.

Thanks guys! And thanks for taking the time to check it out. Working on videos keep my occupied after work during the week, haha.

Won ANOTHER tournament this weekend. This time a night tournament at Lake Wallenpaupack. 5 fish limit for 15.51 lbs! This year has been a big step up for us.
