To celebrate my new job at dicks, I decided to splurge on a live target field mouse (i originally didnt feel the need to spend 11 on one). However, im extremely happy that I did. pulled these two out on my first afternoon at the farm pond with it. The first was open water while walking, the second came from dragging it over mats of algae.  

they are great little baits.  Seem to get bit when the bigger hollow frogs won't.  Have a few of them myself and have caught more fish with them then any other frogs I have.

I can't say that I'm a believer in the field mouse...bass see a white belly regardless of whether it's a frog or mouse on top. Nice fish though!

actually yes. I went out at around 3 when I had the white shirt and hat and my hoorag because it was pretty sunny, fished for a while, and eventually had to go back and help my brother and grandpa with some house work for an hour or two, and needed to change shirts by the time i got back to the pond (which is right in my back yard, at around 6, hence why its not as bright.

I definitely agree with the fact that from underneath, the actually body doesn't look any different from a frog, the only thing that I like on the mouse better than the frog is the long, thick (in comparison to frog skirts) rubber tails. If you can get some good action going in that tail they love it

I can understand the logic, but I would have to disagree with your statement. You are not giving the bass credit. A bass's eyesight is pretty darn good. They can tell what they are going after especially if they have been tracking it for a while. They know the difference between a frog and mouse. They look completely different. Just my humble opinion.

I thought the same thing until I tied one on. Slamsville, man... No lie, the mouse gets hit probably 2-3x as much as any other frog in my box. Also it has a nice whippy walking action, that tail isn't just for looks I swear!!
