Epoxy top coat

I've notice most of you prefer a top coat of epoxy on your hardbaits?  What type of epoxy are you using.  How do you apply it, just brush it on?  Thanks.

Personally I like to use Devcon 2- ton epoxy. It is a typical 2 part epoxy and you can pick it up from most retail stores like Wal-mart and it isn't that expensive. Best part is it has a 30 min work time giving you time to do several baits with one mix. I apply mine with a brush since it is a self leveling epoxy if you have the mix right, apply thick to get an even coat then when you've covered the bait you can use the brush to run the bait from one end to the other to remove excess epoxy.Make sure you mix as per the direcitions on the package , if not mixed correctly the epoxy will not cure sometimes even for days or it will nor cover the bait in a level coat. One of the most important steps for a finished product is once the epoxy is applied that you have some way of hanging the bait for drying that will allow the bait to rotate (like a slow spinning drying rack) so the as the epoxy cures it won't just start to run to one end of the bait and "pool up" making the top of the bait look like it has a thin cover and the bottom a blob, or if you don't mind hold the bait for 30 min or so slowly spoinning it  :);):o;):) ;)Hope this helped.

Thanks alot that's all I needed.

Hookum, yes the 2-ton epoxy that is still workable in 30 minutes.  DO NOT use the 30 minute dry time epoxy, as it will yellow your baits.
