I'm going up to NY to visit my wife's grandmother Sep 12-15 and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a fishing spot in that area?  I would love to find a small lake or pond or something to hit from the bank if you have any suggestions.  Otherwise, I may just walk over to the bay and try my hand at some saltwater fishing (though i'm a total newbie in the salt)... 

She lives in Bayside on 212th Street around the Bay Terrace area if that helps any further.

Anything on this one guys?  Heading up there on Friday 9/12.  Just let me know if you have any info.  Otherwise may just be a long weekend of golf and football at Nana's house....

The only place I know in that area where you will have a decent chance in catching bass would be Kissena Lake.  You're probably gonna need to get a ride over there or take a bus.  Do a google search on Kissena lake. I think there are some kids that posted some vids on youtube about fishing there.
